Seeing a need in the market, they opened the very first Destination XL store in Cambridge, MA specifically to provide quality apparel sized for big and tall body types. The original store was a huge success, and over the next decade we continued expanding across the United States. By the 1990s, our company began operating under the name Casual Male XL to reflect our primary focus on casual clothing for bigger guys. In the 2000s, we acquired other major big and tall retail chains to enhance our national store footprint while also launching our e-commerce site. This strategic growth enabled us to better reach and serve customers all over the country.
